www.oddpost.com
Looking for a great web-based email solution? A Web mail service from San Francisco-based Oddpost is an excellent option. At first Oddpost looks much like a standard desktop e-mail client such as Outlook or Eudora but it's actually browser-based, just like any other Web mail service. Oddpost also supports drag-and-drop, message previewing, flexible display customization, right-click menus and automatic address completion. The feature that sold me was the ability to not only download email from other POP servers, but to change the return address! You get 30MB of storage space and the ability to send/receive attachments up to 10MB. And there's no advertising, either - on the interface or in your messages. It only works under Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher for Windows but they are working on Mac and Mozilla compatibility. They are constantly adding new features and welcome suggestions. Cost is $30 per year with a 30-day trial period.

www.weatherbug.com
Ever wonder what the temperature is outside while your typing away at your keyboard? Weatherbug.com offers a program you can download and install on your computer that automatically updates your local weather. It's free for the ad sponsored version and $19.95 for the ad-free version. Interestingly enough, you can choose the advertisers so it's not very painful. Enjoy!

What is a weblog?
A weblog is a web page made up of usually short, frequently updated posts that are arranged chronologically --like a what's new page or a journal. The content and purposes of blogs varies greatly --from links and commentary about other web sites, to news about a company/person/idea., to diaries, photos, poetry, mini-essays, project updates, even fiction.
